Welcome!Ochre is the color of the ground beneath your feet. It's warm, present and dependable. At Ochre psychotherapy we offer therapy that is grounded in your lived experience, invigorating, focused and collaborative. The word therapy comes from the Greek therapeia: to attend, to care for, and to stay. Ochre Psychotherapy places that care in the oldest possible context - not in a clinical transaction, but in something closer to what humans have always done for one another in quiet places.Bearing witness. Slowing down. Holding steady. Staying.

Why I named my practice after the color Ochre:

Ochre is one of the oldest words in the human color vocabulary. It names one of the oldest substances we have ever used with intention: iron oxide, earth pigment, the warm yellow-brown our ancestors ground into powder and pressed into cave walls tens of thousands of years ago. It was the first color we reached for when we wanted to make something last. That quality of patient, quiet endurance is what the name carries into the practice.Therapy, at its best, shares something with that original impulse. Not a dramatic transformation or a sudden arrival at a better self, but a slow uncovering of what was already there - the patterns, the wounds, the strengths that have shaped you without your full awareness.Like pigment worked into stone, real change goes deep and stays.
